Failover Groups WhitepaperFailover Groups (FOG)
The Failover Group (FOG) feature of OpenWare was created to address customer requirements. It provides very flexible configurations, so that a chassis with two switches can have one link from each switch into each external network. So, the redundant links do no need to be from the same switch. This allows for a powerful, distributed redundancy mechanism – possibly unique in the industry.
