There’s nothing more important to a process plant than safeguarding your personnel, plant, community, and the environment. System failures can have catastrophic affects. That’s where functional safety systems come into play. They provide the critical capability of monitoring the critical applications and systems in your plant, and providing a means of executing a controlled and safe shutdown when needed.

When it comes to Functional Safety, GE Intelligent Platforms has the solutions you need. Our PAC8000 SafetyNet is TUV SIL2 certified for applications requiring SIL2 level safety. For SIL3 level applications our Genius Modular Redundancy solution which is also TUV certified provides the answer.
GE provides Fire and Gas Safety Systems that have been proven in some of the world’s most extreme settings. PAC8000 SafetyNet meets the ISA G3 Corrosion resistance allowing it to stand up to the punishing environment found on gas storage platforms in the North Sea off of England. Our controllers are TUV SIL 2 Certified, Certified to Class I Div II, Conform to NFPA 72 and NFPA 85, support IEC 61131 Programming, and have UL/CSA Approvals. Our system is the intelligent choice for F&G and provides a considerable cost advantage over SIL3 systems.
GE provides functional safety systems that can monitor your process allowing for a safe and systematic shutdown should an event arise. While the functional safety system is often isolated from the process control system, we offer the unique option of an integrated process and safety system for smaller applications where a single controller can provide substantial cost savings.
In today’s business environment, companies cannot afford to overlook the safety of their boiler control systems. GE provides a NFPA 85 compliant Burner Management Systems for boiler applications. The system monitors for loss of ignition, fuel or air interruption and safely trips the unit preventing an explosive atmosphere from developing in the boiler. It also assures the appropriate permissives exist for a safe light off of the boiler as well. The extreme temperature specifications of the PAC8000 SafetyNet controllers allow them to be mounted directly out at the boiler saving on installation and maintenance costs.
